PROGRAM is a non-profit organization based in Germany, with
the purpose to expand disciplinary boundaries of architecture. Program
routinely collaborates with other fields to reach this goal.
PROGRAM was created by Carson Chan and Fotini
Lazaridou-Hatzigoga in 2006. This project provides lengthy platforms for
architects, artists, criticism and curators to learn from each other and
explore ideas related with architecture.
Carson Chan gets his bachelor of Architecture from Cornell
University, then Masters in Design Studies in the History and Theory of
Architecture from Harvard University. He works as an architecture writer and a
curator.
Fotini Lazaridou-hatzigoga gets a Diploma of Architecture
from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, then a Master in Design Studies
in the History and Theory of Architecture from Harvard University with
scholarship from Fulbright Scholarship. He works as an architect and a
researcher.
This project has routine exhibitions, performances,
workshops, lectures, and residencies. The main goal of Program is to strive
into diversity, enrich and broaden the definition of architecture, and to challenge
traditional modes of architectural practice and representation.
Workspace & Library in PROGRAM's Headquarter
The headquarter of PROGRAM is located in Berlin, completed
with a space for exhibition, workspace, reading room or event space, and even a
residency, while the workspace is up for rent.
Exhibitions plays a large part in PROGRAM to fulfill the
needs of expanding the understanding of architecture in both theoretically and
in practice.

A full-scale installation explaining that public space is communally
occupied. Explaining their idea that space transforms every single time based
in what we do around it. The installation is a stretchable membrane put across
the gallery floor, then allowing visitors to move around on it. The fabric will stretch
and shaped around the movements that the visitors do.
Traffic of Clouds, sept-oct 2007
Hackenbroich Architekten in collaboration with Jan
Christensen
This large-scale installation is aiming to questioning the
way we use spaces in our everyday lives, and also to suggest that the function
of space could be determined by it’s users. The installation spread between
rooms, reach towards the ceiling. The purpose of this is to dissolve the
boundaries between exhibition space and office in PROGRAM headquarters.

Judging from the images that I see in this post, I think what it shows is the expressiveness that the program is trying to offer. Where Architecture can be both bold, simple and dramatic at the same time. However, I do agree with Rifda in a way of how Indonesia is seemed to lack an organization of some sort like PROGRAM.
