Alice in Wonderland Restaurant

Hi everyone. I came across a very unique restaurant as I was browsing.
I'm sure most of you guys like/know Disney. And if you guys like Disney, you guys should know Alice in Wonderland film.

Alice in Wonderland animated cartoon version[1]

For those of you who didn't know about Alice in Wonderland, Alice in Wonderland is about a girl named Alice who accidentally got into the Wonderland. There, she met various fantasy characters and travelled to various magical places.  Wonderland contains magical places such as castles, magical forests, labyrinths, gardens, etc.

Located at Tokyo, "Alice of Magic World" is a restaurant by FANTASTIC DESIGN WORKS CO., based on the Alice in Wonderland theme. All the furnitures and decorations can be seen just like from the 1951 cartoon. There are card dining tables, the magic forest, heart-shaped chandeliers and menus, giant books, replicas of the characters, and portraits and silhouettes of Alice on the wall. Even the waitresses also dress like Alice.

                                                                                    The Waitresses [2]

Just like the film,  the restaurant is divided into sections based on the scenes from the animated film.  "Maruyama, who completed the project with Suzuki, says: “We wanted to give guests excitement and surprise, like an unreal world with various wonderlands. But we didn’t want it to be gimmicky.”[3]

Various Interiors of the restaurant[5]

Not only the interiors are tempting, but the food, drinks, and desserts are also very tempting. The Desserts' menu is in the shape of heart and the drinks' menu is in the shape of playing cards, which you have to open to reveal the pictures. Some of the desserts are also decorated and shaped based on the film.

  2. It's very interesting to know hotels, restaurants and other places that offers a unique concept of architecture.

If you have an opportunity to create a design that is as unique as the restaurant you mentioned, what would it be Jo?

    1. Thank you for the comment Rifda.

If I were to have an opportunity like that, I would probably design a robotic-theme restaurant with advanced technologies where the guests can order food by themselves as soon as they get in hahaha. But, I think it would be a bit impossible because it sounds somewhat selfish since there would be few laborers haha.
